The Academic Hospital of UGM (RSA) is currently eight years old. Even though it is relatively new, the UGM campus-owned hospital has succeeded in achieving complete accreditation since 2015. However, UGM RSA will innovate the field of service quality to increase the number of patients seeking treatment. At the moment of RSA UGM celebration ceremony on Monday (2/3) in RSA UGM Auditorium, the Director of the RSA, Dr. UGM Arief Budiyanto, Ph.D., SpKK (K) said, “We will improve the service innovations so that many patients will visit here,”
To improve the quality of patient services, said Arief, he and his team will make improvements to the quality of hospitals by applying for international accreditation in 2021. Besides, it will establish special services for patients who have certain types of diseases by increasing the number of specialist doctors.
Besides, one of the service innovations that will be carried out soon is to provide a funeral home for patients. “We will open a funeral home for all religions, and we are going to facilitate it,” he said.
In his report, he mentioned the number of patients seeking treatment increased gradually from year to year. In 2019, the number of patients treated was 119,541. If previously, 70 percent of patients treated were BPJS participants, then in 2019, the number would be reduced by half. While emergency patients in 2019 reached 22,178 people. “That number increased from 2018 and then 18,845 people,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor for UGM Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Agus Kironoto hoped that RSA always improves its service quality. “We need to be ready that the new Permenkes makes it easy for hospitals to get BPJS patients,” he said.
Deputy Regent of Sleman, Dra. Sri Muslimatun, M. Kes, said that the presence of UGM RSA adds to the list of hospitals that are established in Sleman Regency. According to him, RSA has provided health services for residents of Sleman. “Thank you for the collaboration that has been carried out facilitating for our people to seek treatment here,” he said.
