18 Ribu Mahasiswa UGM Dapat Dana Beasiswa Pendidikan

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) annually allocates hundreds of billions of rupiah for student scholarships. Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Sindung Tjahyadi, said in 2022 alone, UGM managed to raise scholarship funds amounting to Rp304.5 billion for 18,964 students.

“The amount comes from 192 types of scholarships from 165 partners,” said Sindung on Thursday (19/1).

According to Sindung, the scholarship fund managed by UGM has increased yearly, from Rp274.6 billion in 2020 to Rp295.4 billion in 2021, and this year amounting to Rp304.5 billion.

“Every year, the amount increases, as well as the partners,” he said.

The aid comes from UGM and its partners, including government agencies, private companies, foundations, state-owned enterprises, regional-owned enterprises, alums, individuals, and foreign universities.

Sindung explained for undergraduate and applied undergraduate students, eligible recipients include underprivileged students, outstanding disadvantaged students, and outstanding santri (PBSB) & students with stellar achievements (PBUK).

“Nothing prevents underprivileged students from completing their education at UGM,” he said.

In 2022, the Director added that as many as 1,882 UGM students received the KIP-K scholarship from the government. Since 2010, this scholarship has aided around 15,656 students during their studies at UGM.
