Platform MindMe Hantar Agnezte Juara I Esri Young Scholars Award

Geodetic Engineering student Agnezte Berthryvena has taken home the 2023 Esri Young Scholar Award through her webGIS innovation, MindMe.

The Esri Young Scholar Award is a national competition to recognize excellence, innovation, and creativity in using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to solve societal challenges. In this competition, Agenezte created MindMe to raise mental health awareness.

“MindMe is an application and webGIS that helps people to be aware of mental well-being, guides people in areas that are in dire need (of mental health care), and shows access to available mental health service facilities,” said Agnezte at UGM on Thursday (6/4).

Agnezte dedicates her work to helping people who suffer from mental health conditions and don’t have a clue where to seek help. Through this platform, she believes she can provide a ‘big picture’ in improving mental health services nationwide.

“There were 30 projects submitted to the 2023 Esri Young Scholar Award, and I was selected as one of the three finalists,” she said.

Each finalist, Agnezte added, had to do a 15-minute final presentation and a 15-minute Q&A at Esri Indonesia’s office in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/3). Their presentation will be judged by Dr. Agung Indrajit (Head of the Center of Data and Information for Development Planning, Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Agency), Puguh Sarwanto (Lead Specialist Innovation Geomatic chez Upstream Innovation at PT Pertamina Hulu Energi), and Khairul Amri (Solution Strategist Manager for Esri Indonesia).

Securing the second and third positions were Farras Rizqy Hafizh from Bandung Institute of Technology and Muhammad Prudentio Jawairul Falah from Universitas Indonesia.

Agnezte said she was delighted to outperform her competitors from across Indonesia. As part of her prize for winning the award, Agnezte will have the opportunity to present her work at the prestigious geospatial annual conference, the 2023 Esri User Conference, in San Diego, California, USA.

“A User Conference will be held in July 2023, and I will be talking about the geospatial sector and platforms in my presentation on the global stage,” she explained.
