A student of the department of State Administration, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, UGM, Andika Listiono Putra, has been temporarily declared missing after following a climbing expedition in Mount Semeru , East Java .
The head of PR and protocol of UGM, Drs. Suryo Baskoro, M.S., told journalists on Wednesday (29/7) afternoon on UGM campus that Andika’s participation in the climb was for one of the Mapala Sentrayana Fisipol activities. “Right now we are in coordination with Fisipol and Sentrayana to try to find clear information about Andika,†he said. Suryo also added, his side is also in coordination with the SAR team who are currently searching for Andika in Mount Semeru .
As the Lumajang District SAR team reported, six climbers are already safe. However, Andika has lost contact with the group. It is later known that a storm had hit the group on their way down from the peak of the mountain. The report of a missing person was received in the Ranupane post, Tuesday, at 17.00.
Andika Listiono Putra is a second year student, class of 2008, in the department of State Administration. He is a graduate of SMU N 1 Puri, Mojokerto, East Java .
