Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and PT Indosat Tbk signed the letter of agreement for corporate social responsibility (CSR) program cooperation. The letter was signed by UGM’s Rector Prof. Sudjarwadi and the CEO of Indosat Jhonny Swandi Sjam on Wednesday (3/6) at the Leader’s Room of Central Office of UGM.
Indosat agreed to grant 60 energy-efficient LDC Monitors, scholarships, apprentice opportunity for undergraduate students, 1.000 plant seeds, and the fiber optic network establishment in UGM.
“It is hoped that UGM family can enjoy a better service quality in Information Technology, especially in terms of the easy and fast internet access,†said Rector.
Meanwhile, Jhonny Swandi Sjam explained that this is not the first time that Indosat cooperates with UGM. Early this year, the apprentice program for Economics and Business Faculty students of UGM has started.
He also added that the Indosat commitment for higher education is also done in other universities, especially in the grant of scholarships for university students.
Sjam mentioned that Indosat has 3 CSR programs, namely Indonesia Belajar (Learning Indonesia), Indonesia Sehat (Healthy Indonesia), and Indonesia Hijau (Green Indonesia). In the Indonesia Sehat program, Indosat provides 18 health-service cars for moms and kids. These car are putted in 8 regional office of Indosat and they provide free medical services.
