UGM is planning to bring back to live the Nature Lover’s Collective Secretariat. The action is done to prevent the reoccurring of what happened to Andika Listiono Putro, a student of UGM’s State Administration Department year 2008, who is still missing in Mount Semeru since his hiking several days ago.
The Director of UGM’s Student Affairs, Drs. Haryanto, called Sentot on a daily basis, claim that later, every campus activity that is poses risk will have to meet that SOP standard, like the permission from the faculty, university, and their parents. “Currently we have the collective secretariat for art and Sports. Along with the establishment of Nature Lover’s Collective Secretariat, there will be a more detailed SOP and training from their seniors,†he explained.
Meanwhile, about the Mount Semeru hiking by Nature and Environment Lover Group (called KPALH) Setrajana, up to now there’s no information whether the hiking has got its permission from the Faculty.
About the rescuing effort of Andika, Sentot claimed that UGM has prepared several scenarios if Andika is found. UGM will bear the possible cost, starting from insurance from Gadjah Mada Medical Centre (GMC). Outside the insurance, the faculty can share the cost with the University.
In searching for Andika Listiono Putra, UGM has sent a team of 20 students who are members of Setrajana Nature Society along with volunteers to Lumajang. UGM also sent a team to meet his parents in Mojokerto. Today the team has joined SAR in the search in Kalimati,â€.
