Computer network

 

• Optic fiber network facility that has included all faculties and work units in UGM. The mainstay of UGM network is build with the basis of Ethernet Gigabit technology. The network center is backed up by Cisco Catalyst 6509 that links switching access in each user location through distribution switches, namely 4 Cisco Catalysts 4003 and 4006, which are placed in the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Science, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Medics, and Faculty of Agricultural Technology. Network access of work units is made through Switch Catalyst 3524 and 2950.
• Hotspot facility spread over in some area in UGM that is used to access journal and academic material via wireless network (wifi). There are about 18 hotspot midpoints now, and are increasing in the next years.
• E-mail provision facility for students, lecturers, officials, and all other work units in UGM. The available capacity is 10 mbps at minimum and can be improved as needed.
• Web hosting facility for students, lecturers, officials, organizations and all work units in UGM. The available capacity is 50 mbps at minimum and can be improved as needed.

Telephone network

• The wide PABX telephone network that covers the entire UGM, using analog and digital technology.
• Using optic fiber facility, telephone network of voip technology (voice over internet) is now being prepared.

Computer and network terminal

 

• 100 units of personal computers now located in CCITS office are ready to be used in training or practicum for students and officials.
• 10 units of terminal facility located in CCITS can be used by the students, lecturers, and officials of UGM to access internet.

3. E-mail and website hosting
   1. E-mail making and rearing service for students, lecturer, officials, and all work units in UGM.
   2. Site making and rearing service for students, lecturer, officials, and all work units in UGM.
4. Training service,
   CCITS provides technology and communication training for students, lecturer, and officials in UGM.
5. Developing and maintenance of management information system, CCITS helps
   developing academic information system, registration system, budget and
   accounting information system, static asset information system, etc. to
   promote the fluency of the university’s administration.
6. Data processing consultation, including statistic data processing for
   students in doing their assignments or graduating papers, and for
   lecturers who are doing research.
