UGM welcomes 12 students of Ehime University , Japan , in the Assembly Room, LPPM, UGM Central Office, on Wednesday (5 / 8). The arrival of the group of students is to follow a previous KKN PPM UGM program. The students will be divided into two teams that will be placed in two different places, namely Dusun Salam, Magelang, (KKN organic agriculture) and Dusun Piyungan (KKN biogas utilization).
The arrival of the twelve students was accompanied by Prof.. Vergin, International Affairs of Ehime University, and was greeted by Dr. Ir. Djagal Wiseso Marseno, M. Agr. (Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology), Drs. Suryo Baskoro, M.S. (Head of PR and Protocol Affairs), Dra. Rio Rini Diah Moehkardi, M.A. (International Affairs Office), along with several staff of LPPM UGM.
Head of PR and Protocol Affairs, UGM, Suryo Baskoro, said in his speech that he hopes this event can add to the experiences of the Ehime University students, both about the Javanese culture and knowledge.
Prof. Vergin, the International Affairs of Ehime University also said the same thing. He hopes that from this program students can gain experience interacting with the people of the local community. This activity is also expected to increase their awareness of the importance of efforts to establish communication between different cultures.
Before following the KKN, the twelve students are given an orientation by UGM. This orientation was given directly by Dra. Rio Rini Diah Moehkardi, M.A. Office of International Affairs, UGM. Students were given an explanation of UGM, including the program of study, research, community service, student exchanges, scholarships, several cooperations that have been established, both national and international, and also about campus life.
