UGM strongly supports all its faculties and departments to get into more international collaboration. This is a part of UGM’s effort to make real its vision in becoming an international research university. Such collaboration has been done in nearly all UGM’s faculties and departments. However, “there is still imbalance in the implementation,†said Ir. Adam Pamudji Rahardja, the Director of UGM’s Planning and Development, Wednesday (12/8) after a seminar called “Sharing the Experience in Building International Collaborationâ€.
One of the successful ones is the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Economics and Business. They partner with several international partners in the form of student/teacher exchange, join research, double degree study, and international class.
Adam then clarifies that the target of building an international collaboration is not depending on how many networks you have, but on the continuity of the collaboration.
A senior staff of WCRU for the Directory of UGM’s Planning and Development Ir. Siti Syamsiah, Ph.D. stated that the form of UGM’s support in realizing international collaboration is informing every faculty, department, and teacher about every opportunity to collaborate as well as facilitating it. One of the efforts is the seminar, which will inspire all the community of UGM to do it. The seminar invites spokespersons Prof. Anne Russon, York University Canada, William Battye, LSM Geres Kamboja, Nurul L. Winarni, Wildlife Conservation Society Indonesia, and a resourceperson from Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD). (Public Relations of UGM/Ika)
