UGM and Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) have signed the cooperation deal at the Multimedia Room of Central Office of UGM on Friday (14/8). The cooperation letter was signed by UGM’s Rector Prof Sudjarwadi and the Director of IRTI, Prof Bambang PS Brodjonegoro, witnessed by the Dean of Economics and Businesses Faculty (FEB) of UGM Prof Marwan Asri, IRTI and Islamic Development Bank representatives.
Both sides agreed that they will develop and train human resources in the field of Islamic Economy and Finance and also exchanging information and data.
Prof. Bambang explicitly said that the cooperation is a part of IRTI and Islamic Development Bank program. It is hoped that the cooperation can promote Islamic finance and banking to IDB members, including Indonesia.
Bambang hoped that FEB can open an Economic Diploma Study Program in Sharia Banking so that in the future the graduates can fill the need of Islamic finance and economy practitioner. UGM Rector hoped that both sides will earn a new way in Islamic Banking and Finance economy development. The cooperation is also in line with UGM vision in applying science for Indonesia’s welfare and happiness.
Rector also added that he also agree with Prof Bambang and hoped that FEB can realize the study program soon.
