The Council of Professors (MGB) of University Gadjah Mada has inaugurated five new professors and let go of three professors who have retired. The inauguration ceremony
took place at the UGM Senate Hall recently, along with the plenary meeting and syawalan (Eid celebration) of the Council.
Those who were inaugurated are Prof. Ir. Faith Satyanto, M.E., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Ir. Fatchan Nurrochmad, M. Agr., Prof. Dr. Amitya Kumara, M.S., Prof. Dr. Sangidu, M. Hum., And Prof. drh. Aris Junaidi, Ph.D. Meanwhile, the three professors who retired are Prof. drg. H. Soelistiono, Sp.B.M. (K), Prof. Dr. Achmad Mursyidi, M.Sc., Apt., and Prof. Dr. Bambang Soedijono.
"We congratulate your success, especially those who have completed your formal post as a professor. Although formally you have retired from the department, faculty, and university, but many of us still hope that you are willing to remain helping us in your capacity and ability," said Prof. Dr. Siti Muslimah Widyastuti, M.Sc., Tuesday (6 / 10), on UGM campus.
It is explained by the Secretary of the Council that with the approval of Board of Trustees, the University has prepared ways to take advantage of the great teachers who have retired. On the other hand, the Professors who have just sworn in are expected to contribute in the form of suggestions and inputs through the Council.
"As one of the organs in the college with the state-owned legal entity status, in addition to the BoT, Academic Senate, and which has now turned into an educational legal entity, the duties and functions of the Council are to provide academic guidance and moral integrity and ethics for the academic community. Therefore, you can contribute ideas, suggestions, and input through the plenary forum and other forums, "explained Prof. Widyastuti.
