The bill of pornography has officially become the Law of Pornography. This law intends to establish and maintain the ethical, noble, respect the value of Single God, and respect the dignity of humanity. Moreover, the law also gives educations on the society’s moral; give the law certainty that will protect citizen from porn, especially kids and women; and prevent the expand of porn and sex commercialization in the society.
As a follow up step, the Research and Society Services Institution (LPPM UGM); and the General Directorate Communication Medium and Information Dissemination of Communication and Informatics Department (Depkominfo) of Indonesia will held a discussion and dialogue on “the prospect and challenges in pornography law implementationâ€.
One of the organizing committee Adi W said that the event will be held on Wednesday 26 November 2008 at the Borobudur Room, 7th floor of Saphire Hotel from 09.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. Adi also added on Tuesday (25/11) that the event will observe the law from various aspects, such as the regulation process, reviews from academic perspective, law perspective and religion perspective.
The speakers who will attend the event are the general director of General Directorate Communication Medium and Information Freddy H Tulung, a member of 2nd Commission of DPR RI Agus Purnomo, PP Aisyiah Secretary Trias Setyawati, The head of UGM’s Study Center of Women Siti Hariti Sastriyani, and Law Expert from Islamic Indonesian University Jawahir Tontowi.
