The declaration was the peak of the Indonesian Students Conference (KMI) held from 23rd to 28th October at Bulak Sumur UGM by BEM KM UGM. Various issues were discussed in this event and eventually the solution ideas were manifested in the form of Indonesian Students Pledge.

The declaration was started with the Indonesian National Anthem song and filled with students’ oration from various universities.
