The Center for Anti-Corruption Studies (PUKAT) of Faculty of Law, UGM, rejected the Police’s move that had arrested deputy chiefs of  Anti-Corruption Comission (KPK), Bibit and Chandra. Pukat also criticized those doing the ‘criminalization’, especially the police, prosecutors, and bad politicians. "We ask the President to intervene by stopping this move," said Pukat’s Director Zainal Arifin Mochtar, SH, L.L.M

Zainal asked the President to resolve the case by controlling the police and prosecutorial agencies that he thought were excessive. "The President showed good intention, that  there will be a better process. We are not trying to save Bibit and Chandra, but the greater move to eradicate corruption, "he said.

Pukat called on the community to work together to help KPK and anti-corruption activist, because the corruptors are the ones who benefit from this case. "The happy group arising from this ‘lizard versus crocodile’ case is that of corruptors," Zainal added.

He also regretted that the case had caused KPK work more slowly. "Today the KPK seems to be only defending itself against attacks. This is a real victory for corruptors. Do not let the corruptors celebrate their victory,” he concluded.
