As one of the supporting elements of the University, Universitas Gadjah Mada Archives has the vision to become the centre for archiving development and information services to support the World Research University that has good management. Therefore, the UGM Archives should intensively disseminate archiving matters to the academic community and the public.
To realise this vision, on the 60th anniversary of UGM and the 10th anniversary of the UGM Archives, a national seminar was held with the theme “Development Strategies for Archiving Institution as Information Service Centre†held at the University Club, UGM, Thursday (10/12). It presented four speakers: Head of UGM Archives Drs. Machfoed Effendhie, M.Hum., and Yako Kozano from the Aichi Prefectural University Nagoya, Japan.
Also became speakers Drs. Djoko Utomo, M.A., Head of Indonesian National Archives, and expert staff to Minister of Communication and Information. The moderators were Head and Secretary of Archiving Study Programme in the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Julianto, S.S., M.Hum. and Waluyo, S.S., M.Hum.
Along with the seminar, an exhibition was held, displaying photographs of student activities such as introduction session, cultural performances and exhibitions, sports and Miss Campus Competition between 1965-1972.
