Graduate Students Association (HMP) UGM held International Student Gathering at Auditorium of Faculty of Animal Sciences, UGM, on Saturday (12/12). That event brought together UGM local and international students and attended by 60 students from Egypt, Sudan, Iran, USA, Vietnam, Korea and Australia, discussing a topic on ‘Enhancing World Class Research University in Global Era’.
The event was divided into 2 sessions. The first session presented three speakers: Head of International Affairs Office of UGM, Dr. Eng. Rahmat Sriwijaya, UGM’s alumnus, Benito Rio Avianto, and Leader of International Students of UGM Forum, Amir Rostam Dokht from Iran. The second session was Focus Group Discussion (FGD).
Chief of HMP, Isroi, in HMP’s release sent on Monday (14/12) said that the gathering of international students at UGM was an initial step ahead of other international meetings next year. “In the middle of next year we plan to hold an international gathering, inviting foreign students from 300 universities in the world such as from Europe, USA, Australia, Japan, China, the Middle East and ASEAN,’ he said.
