To close events in 2009, Graduate Students Association (HMP) of UGM will hold a national seminar with the theme “Reflection on Nationality: Review of National Life Today and Futureâ€. This seminar is an expression of contemplation for Indonesian people about many events with the hope to create achievement strategy for many aspects in 2010.
Explained by Hengki Firmanda A.S., S.H., Chief of Committee, the seminar will discuss many aspects such as education, law, economy, politics, and governance. Those aspects are important because they are the foundation for national advancement in the future.
“As the final result, the discussion of many reviews of national problems today will hopefully be able to give significance for the achievement of strategies that will be taken to avoid the same mistake and the same problem,†said Hengki, Monday (28/12) on UGM campus.
As scheduled, the seminar will be held on Tuesday, 29 December 2009 in the Auditorium of Faculty of Animal Sciences, UGM. Several speakers will be presented such as, Dr. La Ode Ida (Deputy Speaker of Regional Consultative Assembly), Prof. Dr. Sudjito, S.H., M.Sc. (Caretaker of Master and Doctoral Programs of Law Science, Faculty of Law), Kamsul Abraha, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Leader of National Physics Olympic Team), and Ellan Satriawan, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. (contemporary economic observer). “Dr. Ir. Arman Wijonarko, M.Sc., Vice Dean of Faculty of Animal Science for Academic Affairs will be the moderator,†explained Hengki.
In this event, added Hengki, screening of documentary film will also be done, recounting Indonesia’s potential as well as its problems throughout 2009. It is expected that many values can be formulated from this film so that this nation can prepare forward steps to be taken.
“This might be a unique seminar. Another unique trait of the seminar is that it will present street children performance that will serve as a reflection that Indonesia is still far away from the ideals stipulated in State Constitution (UUD) 1945. “This is the reality of Indonesia in 2009 and how it will be in 2010,†said Hengki closing the interview.
