Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D., with the Chairman of Eka Tjipta Foundation (ETF), G. Sulistiyanto, opened the office of the International Scientists Association of Indonesia (I4), Friday (5/3) afternoon in Unit III of UGM Library.

To reporters, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., said that the goal of the I4 secretariat is to gather Indonesian scientists abroad to share experiences and contribute ideas for the advancement of society. "The point is to synergize ideas and knowledge for educational and environmental advancement,†said Sudjarwadi.
G. Sulistiyanto welcomed the invitation to participate in the establishment of the office. Sulistiyanto said that UGM is one of its 30 strategic partners since 2007. "So far we’ve partnered with UGM, 92 of 2030 scholarships we allocated had been provided for UGM students. It is possible that this will increase in the future, especially for S2 students," he said.
Sulistiyanto added that this year the ETF also contributed $1 billion for the construction of administrative and graduate school buildings of Faculty of Forestry. Also attending that event were Dean of Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Moh. Na’iem, M.Agr.Sc., Executive Secretary, Drs. Djoko Moerdiyanto, M.A., Director of Maintenance and Assets Management, Dr. Ing. Singgih Hawibowo, Head of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Rahmat Sriwijaya and Head of UGM Library, Drs. Ida Fajar Priyanto, M.A.
