Accounting Professional Program of Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM, received the visit made by Perbanas School of Economics (STIE), Surabaya on Thursday (25/3). The group led by Director of Center of Research and Community Service, Dr. R. Wilopo, Ak., M.Si., was received directly by Head of Academic Affairs of Accounting Professional Program, Jufri, S.H., M.Hum.
The visit was to prepare the opening of accounting professional program at STIE Perbanas. “STIE Perbanas planned to open accounting professional program in 2010/2011. We think that UGM’s accounting professional program is very qualified, therefore we visit this university to learn to prepare all things prior to the opening,†said the Director.
On that occasion, Jufri S.H. explained the operational aspects both in terms of academic and non-academic in UGM’s accounting program. This program has been graded ‘A’ by the National Accreditation Board.
He added that UGM’s accounting program established in 2003 has developed rapidly marked by the significant increase in the number of students. However, the numerous accounting programs in Yogyakarta has made it more competitive in getting new students. Also, many companies look for highly competent accountants. "So, we need to produce qualified, competent, and highly credible accountants,†he explained.
