Yogya (KU)- Government and Parliament are urged to prepare regulations for the implementation of national education that contains Pancasila and Constitution 1945 philosophy following the cancellation of Law for Educational Legal Entity (UU BHP) by Constitutional Court . Moreover, several other government regulations related with existing education also need reviewing.

That was delivered by Expert Team of Center for Pancasila Studies of UGM responding to the cancellation made on 31 March. “All Laws that are related to education need to be studied for their consistency with national educational values,” said the Chairman of Team, Prof. Sutaryo to the press, Thursday (1/4) assisted by Prof. Dr. Sudjito, S.H., and Drs. Djoko Pitoyo.

The Chairman said that effectiveness and efficiency of national education are very necessary, but the regulation and the implementation to achieve them can not contrast with philosophical values that are the basis of the implementation of national education. “With this philosophy, there is no reason for the government not to handle education matters, including all its expenses,” the former Chair of UGM Academic Senate said.

Meanwhile, the Professor of Faculty of Law of UGM, Prof. Dr. Sudjito, emphasized the consequence of the cancellation of the Law that all regulations based on the law are no longer  valid. “Other policy that had already been made based on that law needs reviewing and be returned to its initial position. So, the cancellation will not harm other parties,” he explained.

Judicially, Sudjito said that educational implementation for managing education should not always be the same such as the prevailing ones in the law. Therefore, all should be aware about the diversity and reality in Indonesian education in terms of managerial, financial and academic. "We are supposed to maintain diversity as stated by the ‘bhineka tunggal ika’ philosophy," he added.

UGM philosopher Drs. Djoko Pitoyo also said that all prevailing educational regulations that are incompatible with Pancasila philosophy need to be reviewed thoroughly.
