Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D., received the visit made by the delegation of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (Unissa), Brunei Darussalam, at UGM main office, Thursday (15/4). The delegation was directly led by the Rector of Unissa, Dr. H. Serbini bin Haji Matahir and received by the Rector accompanied by Executive Secretary, Drs. Djoko Moerdiyanto, MA, and Head of International Affairs Office, Dr. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya, S.T., M.T. Unissa Rector disclosed that this visit is aimed to explore various possibilities of cooperation that can be developed. "UGM is a major university with enough experience. We, as a relatively new university that was founded three years ago, want to learn much from UGM," he explained. The Unissa rector added, his institution hopes that the partnership that will be initiated will be able to bring Unissa toward better rankings at national and regional levels.
UGM Rector welcomed the plan for cooperation. The Rector mentioned that Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam have a history of close relations in the past. The cooperation that will be initiated, he added, is expected to enhance the relationship.
In that opportunity Sudjarwadi described cooperation opportunities that can be developed between UGM and Unissa, such as opportunities for Unissa students to follow the KKN program, Students and Lecturer exchange, research development, as well as information sharing about management of the university.
