Senior Vice Rector for Education, Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Retno Sunarminingsih, M.Sc., Apt., accompanied by the Head of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya, S.T, M.T, received a visit made by staff from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development of Timor Leste. The delegation consisting of Snra Odete da Costa, coordinator of the scholarship committee, and Ofelia Tongeo, human resources development expert, as well as Mr. Chen Chen from Asean Development Bank (ADB), was accepted in the rector's office, Tuesday (11/5).

During the meeting, both agreed to discuss cooperation in order to improve the quality of human resources through education. Timor-Leste Government plans to send 15 staff of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development to study at UGM Graduate Program in Master of Infrastructure Facilities Study Program.

UGM Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs , Dra. Rio Rini Mochkardi, MA, said the arrival of the Timor-Leste delegation aims to obtain detailed information about the Infrastructure Facilities Master program. They hope to get much information about application procedures, costs, and the system of lectures and study duration. "The fifteen ministerial staff that will be sent are going to study in the S-2 Faculty of Engineering," she said. Their program to send fifteen students to UGM will become the second one. Previously, a number of staff from the Timor Leste Government studied in Master of Public Administration program. According to Rio, those who will enroll in advanced studies at UGM are qualified. ”UGM also provides matriculation courses prior to the S-2 study for those who have not met the requirement in some subjects," she added.
