Senior Vice Rector for Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Prof. Ainun Na'im, M.B.A, Ph.D., inaugurated four new officials at UGM. The inauguration took place in Multimedia Room on Wednesday (30/6), witnessed by a number of UGM officials.

The four newly inaugurated officers are Edi Prasetyo, ST, M. Eng. as Head of Information Technology Services at the Information Technology and Communication Services Center, Harto Gunarto, S.T as the Chief Administrative Office of the Faculty of Engineering, Raden Rara Dasi Hernawati, S.E.T as Section Head of Finance and Public Administration (Faculty of Psychology), and Hartono, S. Kom. as Section Head of Finance and Public Administration (Faculty of Engineering).

"This inauguration is an important process for the UGM organization. We hope that this inauguration will be mutually supportive in order to carry out the mandate that has been entrusted to us, particularly for new officials who will occupy important positions," said Ainun Na'im in his speech.

He said that UGM is currently facing many challenges which are not getting easier or fewer, but more numerous and complex. "I hope that these challenges do not weaken the spirit of the new officials, but the opposite," he said. Related to the information technology services, Ainun Na'im hoped that it will be more and more reliable in the future. This field is really expected to form the technology services that are highly reliable because information technology is expected to become one of the most important supporting facilities for performing the duties at UGM.

Reflecting from the World Trade Center tragedy in New York which, in which online condition could be restored within 14 minutes, UGM also expected to be able to do the same. For example, financial transactions are expected to be recovered within minutes after an explosion occurs. "I imagine of how the process of information technology services can also be reliable during such disturbances. We should be able to secure the data of academic, financial, personnel, and other various data during a disturbance, not only the disasters," he added.

Another challenge that is no less important is the problems of parking and traffic arrangements at UGM. The solution to this problem is of course not only the responsibility of the Central Office, but rather a shared responsibility of the faculties and units. By coordinating with each other, parking and traffic arrangements at UGM are expected to get better.

Seen attending the inauguration ceremony were PPTIK Chief, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Director of Human Resources, and several other officials.
