Faculty of Geography UGM received the visit of Commission D of the Republic of Timor Leste. The delegation led by the Head of the Commission, Ir. Brigida Antonia Correia, M.P, was received in person by the Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Prof. Dr. Suratman, M.Sc., in Meeting Room I Faculty of Geography UGM on Thursday (29/7). The meeting was also attended by the senior leaders of the Faculty of Geography.
Brigida Antonia who was present with four members of Commission D (the Commission which deals with matters in agriculture, animal sciences, fisheries, and natural resources and energy, as well as environment) of the Central Parliament, conveyed that this visit is to strengthen cooperation in the field of education that has existed with UGM, including the Faculty of Geography. One of the programs is to send students for study assignments at UGM.
In the meantime, Prof. Suratman expects to expand cooperation with Timor Leste. "We hope that the next cooperation is not only in education, but also joint research and development service," he hoped.
During the visit the members of parliament also met with 30 Timor Leste students who are studying at UGM, sharing the development of their studies. After the activities, the Commission had the opportunity to visit several laboratories there.
