In connection with UGM as a research university, Wisnu said that KKN-PPM

will continue to be carried out simultaneously by carrying out certain

themes based on regional characteristics. "Not only that, KKN PPM is

executed for practicing science and applying research results through

students who are directly involved in the community with the guidance of

the Field Supervisor," he said.

Under various themes, KKN PPM is expected to improve empathy, care,

student's multidisciplinary cooperation,  contribution of regional and

national competitiveness, and to encourage the creation of learning

community. "Of course, UGM does not want to do this alone but together

with various universities, industries and other agencies and citizens,"

he added.

For the supervisors, Wisnu expected them to be able to assist and train

students to become good leaders and agents of change. "They should make

students as members of working groups who are committed to empower

people. Without them (supervisors), this program will not run well," he

concluded. Secretary of UGM Research and Community Service Institute, Dr. drh.

KKN is currently based on themes suggested by UGM lecturers," Wisnu said

in a ceremony releasing the students at UGM Hall.

"They should make

students as members of working groups who are committed to empower

people. Without them (supervisors), this program will not run well," he

concluded. Secretary of UGM Research and Community Service Institute, Dr. drh.

Wisnu Nurcahyo, Monday (20/9), said that the students will implement

five program’s themes, including water and organic waste management in

the context of community empowerment in health and environment, in

Wirokerten Village, Banguntapan; animal health-based community

empowerment to enhance farm development potentials  in Hargotirto

village, Sleman, to become the Prosperous Village. "Implementation of

KKN is currently based on themes suggested by UGM lecturers," Wisnu said
