Yogyakarta and Faculty of Agricultural Technology UGM to Host the 6th Asian Regional Conference of ICID

For six days from 10 – 16 October, 2010 Yogyakarta will organize The 61st International Executive Council Meeting and the 6th Asian Regional Conference of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage. Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, also supports the event. The Faculty is responsible for field trip and Demonstration Plot of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and some results of SRI research.


Demonstration Plot of SRI is one of field trip destinations for ICID conference participants. This activity will be conducted on October 15, 2010, at 09:00, in Kleben hamlet, Sidorejo Village, Godean Subdistrict, Sleman. Related to this purpose, Department of Agricultural Engineering has prepared a land area of approximately 5,000 m2. This plot area is also used as a demonstration of local rice collection, such as Rojo lele, menthik wangi, and pandan wangi.
