KAGAMA Contributes Ideas for Nation's Prosperity

YOGYAKARTA – Family of Gadjah Mada University Alumni (KAGAMA) will invite all its members from various regions to contribute their ideas on various national problems. The ideas include the sector of education, culture, democracy, economy, technology, law and food. These contributions are expected to provide input to stakeholders at both the central and local governments to make changes and improvements of each policy for the welfare of all citizens.

"With all humility, but based on optimism, KAGAMA wants to contribute ideas for the change of the nation," said KAGAMA Secretary General, Prof. Dr. Ir Budi Santoso Wignyosukarto, Dip.HE., D.E.A, Wednesday (15/12), in the outline of the seminar Road to Prosperity: KAGAMA contribution for Indonesia from 17-18 December 2010 at UGM Graha Sabha Pramana.

The theme of prosperity, Budi said, was intentionally raised remembering that the noble aspiration in the establishment of the Republic of Indonesia up till now has not yet materialized. "We invite the KAGAMA in the region to assist the development of public welfare," he said.


The Seminar’s committee chairman, Prof. Dr. dr. Sutaryo, Sp.A (K), conveyed that this seminar held in conjunction with the KAGAMA plenary session and celebration of 61st UGM Anniversary. The plan is that the seminar will be opened by the KAGAMA Chairman Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X at Graha Sabha Pramana.

To the reporters, Sutaryo explained that UGM, since the establishment already has a major contribution in solving various problems of the nation. He pointed out, the contribution of UGM in the development of the first education law in Indonesia, the Law on Agrarian politics, family planning program, the establishment of ASEAN and the first rocket launching technology.


"It is Universitas Gadjah Mada's task to solve various problems of the nation," he said.
