UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D, at his office received a visit made by In Suk Hamm, M.D., Ph.D, President of Kyungpook National University, Korea, Thursday (20/1). In the visit, both parties signed an MoU in student exchange, publication and academic information. Both sides even agreed to collaborate in research and build academic atmosphere together.
The agreement binds UGM and Kyungpook National University for a cooperation for five years. Meanwhile, to realize the cooperation, both sides will always consult each other.
In education, research and community service, both will develop ways to write Korean alphabets (Hangul). In particular, they will teach the way to write Korean alphabets for Cia-Cia tribe in Bau Bau because the community in the region is more familiar with Hangul than Indonesian alphabets.
After the visit from Kyungpook National University, the Rector also received a delegation from Hitachi Japan. The delegation led by Kazuyuki Miyanaga, manager of CSR Promotion Departement of Corporate Brand and Communications Division, Hitachi, Ltd was accompanied by Michio Sasamori, Managing Director and Yukari Masuda, program officers.
UGM expects closer relationship between the two. Besides, the visit will open various possibilities of cooperation in the fields of education, research and community service.
