After three previous publications, Kompas media has re-published the tetralogy of The Other Side of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) entitled Pak Beye dan Keluarganya (Mr. Beye and His Family). By the same author, Wisnu Nugroho, this book tells about the family to which Pak Beye returns from his routine as the number one person in the Republic of Indonesia. In his family in Cikeas area, various ideas and ideals of SBY are grown. His family is no longer limited to those who have blood ties. There are Democratic Party and ideological children growing up there. Against the role of Pak Beye and his family, a number of criticisms have appeared, fearing the emergence of a dynasty like that in monarchy system.
In the last series of the tetralogy, Wisnu Nugroho, a Kompas journalist who serves in the Palace, shared about trivialities he met there as well as in Cikeas and Pacitan. "I did write some things that are not published in the media," said Wisnu in the Library of UGM on Monday (14/3) in the discussion of his book.
As a journalist assigned to report activities at the Palace, Wisnu Nugroho in his book conveyed facts, not lies. Therefore, in the fourth book emerged stories of Queen Mother, Crown Prince, a number of courtiers, and life in the castle. Similar to the previous series of books, Pak Beye dan Keluarganya is equipped with exclusive photographs that became his starting point to write witty and occasionally critical stories.
In the book discussion guided by Mulyadi Adhisupho, KR reporter, Wisnu and Kompas Book Publisher (PBK), also introduced his new book entitled Pak Kalla dan Presidennya (Mr. Kalla and his President). "I intentionally made a special book about Pak Kalla as Vice- President. After all, this senior figure also influenced the political career of Pak Beye," Wisnu Nugroho commented in the yellow-covered book of the Vice-President.
Commenting on Wisnu’s fourth book, Dr. Abdul Gaffar Karim assessed that this book is interesting to read because something that is not important at the Palace became important in this book. The Lecturer of Governmental Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM, who reviewed the book highlighted SBY as the first professional president, different from the previous presidents. Compared with Soekarno, Soeharto, Habibie, Gus Dur and Megawati, SBY has no historical legitimacy. "He has no social base, either. But he became the first president who was elected by the people," Gaffar said.
