YOGYAKARTA- Documentary film of SEMART UGM team is still leading the documentary film competition of Shell Eco-Marathon 2011. According to the supervisor of SEMART team, Jayan Sentanuhady, ST, M. Eng., as of April 20, 2011, viewers of SEMART UGM team documentary film on Youtube already reached 2097 views (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v = HA5dXonDrDk). SEMART team is subsequently followed by Cikal Nusantara of ITB (1401 views), Nakoela of UI (775 views), Sadewa of UI (793 views), Sapu Angin 4 of ITS (395 views), Mesin of Polnep (169 views), and Rakata of ITB (513 views).
Although the documentary competition is still ongoing, we hope to continuously leading up to the event in Malaysia later," Jayan said, Thursday (21/4).
Jayan explained the documentary film competition uploaded via Youtube is one of a series of competitions of Shell Eco-Marathon 2011 which will be held at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia from 6 to 9 July 2011. According to Jayan, Shell Indonesia added to the competition of documentary film about the profile of each team.
"In principle, documentary film by students must be uploaded on Youtube to see the number of viewers. Fortunately, the viewers of SEMART UGM team are unstoppable in number, leaving other teams behind," he added.
Meanwhile, leader of SEMART UGM team, Alfian Fisa, added that UGM as one representative from Indonesia, for the second time will compete at Sepang International Circuit, 6 to 9 July next. Last year, they successfully won the award of 10 Best Design Autodesk Inventor Award 2010.
"Well, this time SEMART UGM team will launch two vehicles in 2 categories: Urban Semar and Prototype Semar," Alfian said.
As it is known, Shell Eco-Marathon is an international competition that prioritizes development concept of energy-saving and eco-friendly futuristic vehicle. The purpose of this competition is to achieve maximum distance with minimum fuel consumption. The international event was firstly held in the Asian continent in 2010. Meanwhile, this season will be held again at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia from 6 to 9 July 2011. In this competition, there are two categories namely Prototype and Urban Concepts.
