YOGYAKARTA – As one of Corporate Social Responsibility activities, PT Lotte Indonesia provides educationa scholarships to students of Korean Language Department, Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM, on Thursday (12/5). Indra Budiana, Fresh Food Commercial Director, Lotte Scholarship Foundation and PT Lotte Mart Indonesia, directly handed over the scholarship to six students.
The students selected to receive the scholarships are Yogi Ahmad Fajar, Fajar Hamdi, and Lastin Darmokusumo from class 2008. Then, there are Seini Intanalia Zalukhu, Febriani Elfida Trihtarani, and Pradita Nurmaya Kusuma from class 2009. Each student receives a scholarship of US$ 370, which is calculated based on the amount of UGM tuition and the average rental cost in Yogyakarta.
Vice Dean for Student Affairs of Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Drs. Arif Akhyat, M.A, expressed appreciation for the participation of Lotte in helping education programs through scholarships to students of Korean Language Department. "We hope this scholarship helps the process of teaching and learning at UGM," he said.
The similar thing was also delivered by the Head of Korean Language Department, Drs. Tri Mastoyo. He expected that the students would study harder and the scholarship can improve their academic performance. "This scholarship is to improve enthusiasm for learning and stimulus for other students to study hard," he hoped.
Tri Mastoyo also expected that cooperation of Faculty of Cultural Sciences and Lotte will take longer and be extended to other matters, primarily academic activities, such as assistance for faculty and student research.
Also attending the scholarship handover ceremony were Training and HR Department of Lotte Mart Indonesia in Jakarta, Dwi Ariyanti, and representatives of Lotte Mart Yogyakarta, Sugeng Harsono and Yulianti.
