The School of Statistics (STIS) team wins the National Statistics Olympiad (ONS) held by the Statistics Student Association (Himasta) of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM, 12-13 May 2011. The second position was achieved by the team of Institute of Technology (ITS). Furthermore, the third-position was another team of the STIS.
The ONS was followed by 49 teams from 20 universities in Indonesia. Other universities that send representatives are IPB, ITS, IT Telkom, STIS, STIE YKPN, Islamic University of Indonesia, Airlangga University, Diponegoro University, Ahmad Dahlan University, State University of Jakarta, and UGM. The first winner of this competition is entitled to assistance prize amounting to Rp5 million. Meanwhile, the second and the third winners are entitled to assistance prize of Rp3 million and Rp2 million respectively.
