Monday (16/5) American Corner Library, Universitas Gadjah Mada, received a visit from Piet Hendrardjo (representative of AMINEF Jakarta) and Patricia Esposito (Institute of International Education (IIE), USA). During the visit, Piet Hendrardjo, Deputy Executive Director of AMINEF Jakarta and Patricia Esposito, IIE USA, reviewed the collections and facilities of UGM Library. In addition to official visit, both of them shared advice on how UGM Students could obtain scholarships from the United States.
On the occasion Hendrardjo appealed for scholarship applicants to be serious and understand learning objectives in the scholarship application. "If you want to pass the scholarship selection process, you should strongly consider about the study objective. When writing learning objectives, applicants should explain the reasons for the choice of programs and majors offered at the university. This should be short and precise,” he explained.
Hendrardjo also explained that AMINEF continues to increase the scholarship quota of 50% for Indonesian students who want to continue education in the United States. The addition of this scholarship program is to reach more Indonesian students. It does not only provide opportunities for students with high academic ability, but also creates qualified future leaders and enhances mutual understanding, especially in the field of education for both sides, the United States and Indonesia.
