Faculty of Politics and Social Sciences UGM has soft launched a study group of Scandinavia Community or Scanty, Tuesday (7/6) in the Faculty of Politics and Social Sciences’ Multimedia Room. The launching of Scanty was attended by the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Phil. Hermin Indah Wahyuni, S.I.P., M.Si.
On the occasion, Dr. Hermin Indah Wahyuni representing the Dean conveys her pride in the birth of Scandinavia community. "Scanty is the second community here after the SIpAL. The birth of this community can become co-curricular/extracurricular activities that will enrich students’ horizons," she said.
During this time the Faculty encourages the birth of the community or study group that was expected to be able to learn on their own and enrich knowledge ouside campus. As a form of support for the birth of new communities, the Faculty will provide facilities and introduce Scanty to the wider community. "The Faculty hoped such activities can be sustainable," he said.
Gilang Pradityo Bahar, Scanty Coordinator, said Scandinavia community was formed to facilitate students who have interest in various issues and discourse of Scandinavia. In addition, the community is expected to provide information more widely and deeply about issues of Scandinavia. Previously, a series of events such as Pancake Festival (6/6) and Scandinavia Photo Exhibition has been held (27/5-7/6) on campus.
