Syarif Hidayatullah, M. Ag, M.A, lecturer of Islamic Religious Education at Faculty of Philosophy of Universitas Gadjah Mada, succeeded to become the second winner in Scientific Writing Contest (LKTI) Year 2010 for Lecturers of Religious Education in Public Higher Education The competition was held by Research and Religious Development Agency, Ministry of Religious Affairs, on October 12, 2010 in West Java.
Meanwhile, the first winner is a lecturer from Paramadina University, Jakarta. The third is a lecturer from Indonesia University of Education (UPI). One of the alumni of Faculty of Philosophy of UGM Class of 2001, Ahmad Asroni, S. Fil, S.Th.I., also obtained second consolation prize in the competition.
In the competition under the theme Internalization of Religious Values in Religious Education in Public Higher Education as Improvement Efforts for Religious Harmony, Syarif presented a paper entitled Islamic Religious Education Learning based on Multiculturalism Insight. He competed with 74 other participants from several universities in Indonesia. Of this number was selected the best six to compete in the final round. The six best papers plus four other papers are scheduled to be published in an accredited journal published by Research and Development Agency. In addition, to the journal will also be made a compilation book.
Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Research Faculty of Philosophy of UGM, Dr..Arqom Kuswanjono, welcomed the achievement. He hoped more achievements will be made by academicians and alumni in various activities both in national and international scopes.
