54 Teaching and Academic Staff Receive Satyalancana Award

YOGYAKARTA – As many as 54 teaching and academic staff of UGM received Satyalancana Karya Satya award. The award from the President in commemorating the 66th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence was presented by two leaders of UGM, Prof. Rector. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., and Senior Vice Rector for Academic, Research, and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Retno Sunarminingsih, M.Sc., Apt.in the Senate Hall, UGM Main Office, Wednesday (17/8).

Satyalancana Karya Satya award is given by the government for loyalty, devotion, honesty, skill, and discipline in carrying out duties as a Civil Servant. This time, 6 people received Satyalancana Karya Satya award for 10 years of service, 19 people for 20 years of service, and 29 people for 30 years of service. They consist of 46 teaching staff and 9 academic staff.

UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng, Ph.D., in his welcoming speech said that Satyalancana Karya Satya is a form of government recognition for the dedication of civil servants while working at Universitas Gadjah Mada. "This award may further increase the passion in doing the duty," the Rector hoped.

According to Sudjarwadi, the work of award recipients are not only measured by their work loyalty, but also from the results of the work that are used by students, graduates, and society. "What you have done become good examples for others," he said.
