YOGYAKARTA - Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), Dr. Chairil Anwar, launched the ‘MIPA Ngepit’ (MIPA Biking) program in order to support the 'UGM Ngepit' (UGM Biking) program which was launched by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., on July 14, 2011. The launch was marked by a symbolic delivery of 28 bicycles to students along with a gathering to commemorate the 56th Anniversary of the Faculty, Sunday (2 / 10).

Chairil said the program "MIPA Ngepit ' is a breakthrough to support the ideals of the UGM to become educopolis campus, in addition to support “Segosegawe” program (bike to school and work) initiated by the City Government of Yogyakarta and Bike to Work program launched by the government, with the main objective to reduce pollution and improve the quality of health.

He added that the provision of the bicycle is considered very important for transportation in the campus for students and lecturers. "This year, new students are prohibited to bring vehicles into the campus. The University provides several bike stations which are free to use. The addition of these bikes can further facilitate the college activity," he said.

Of the available 28 bikes in the Faculty, 20 of which are donations from Parent Student Union (Potma), while the remaining 8 units were donated by staff.
