Approximately, there were 130 achievements being made by UGM students both nationally and internationally throughout the year 2011. The achievements are not only in academic field but also in sports and arts. “UGM Students never stop making national and international achievements. Throughout the year 2011 approximately 130 achievements were made by UGM students," said the Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., in graduation ceremony of undergraduate degree program at Graha Sabha Pramana, Tuesday (11/22).
Some recent achievements of UGM students, are: two students of the UGM Faculty of Medicine had the opportunity to represent Indonesia for presentation at the European Student Conference in Berlin, Germany, the First Winner and National Favorites Champion for sports industry scientific research. Also in the field of sports, UGM students managed to make achievements as a member of the U-23 national team by winning the first champion in the Asia-Pacific Bridge sport. In addition, in the 26th SEA Games event, UGM students managed to contribute two gold medals and three silver medals in the women skate’s and a gold medal in the women rock climbing. In the field of art, UGM students won the award for best actress, best makeup and commendable clothing in the 5th Festamasio event in Palembang.
According to the Rector, their accomplishments and achievements will become an added value for students when they graduated from UGM and enter the professional work.
