As the peak activity of National Industrial Research (RISNAS) Fiscal Year 2011, Institute for Research and Community Service of Universitas Gadjah Mada (LPPM) will hold 3rd Indonesia Industry Research Forum 2011 (3rd IIRF). This activity will take place from 30 November -1 December 2011 at UGM Jakarta Campus.
The 3rd IIRF 2011 raising the theme of Independence of National Health Industry: Challenges and Opportunities for Higher Education Research will discuss the follow-up to recommendation of industrial research in health and medicine that have been implemented in UGM, which shows big potential development of health technology and local and natural raw materials. Barriers and obstacles in the development of health and medicine are used as recommendations for policy and decision makers in the field.
The event on November 30, 2011 will begin with a plenary session to discuss health care industry and drug policies based on the results of national research cooperation in the health industry. The panelists consist of National Health Ministry, Ministry of Trade, Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and UGM Economic Expert, Dr. Anggito Abimanyu. Furthermore, the same date will also discuss implementation of industrial policy research in universities with speakers from Director General of Higher Education Ministry of Education, Senior Vice Rector for Academic, Research and Community Service as well as from health and drug industry, PT. Kimia Farma and PT.KalbeFarma.
Meanwhile, on December 1, 2011, best practices will be presented about what have been conducted by UGM researchers with industrial partners, divided in various fields, including food security, with partner PT. Unilever, New and Renewable Energy Resources with PT. Energi Puritama, Information and Communication Technology with PT. Advantic, Health and Medicine with PT. Laboratories ENTEBE and Technology and Transportation Management with PT.INKA, Organda and PT.KAI.
Through the 3rd IIRF 2011, UGM tries to play real role and contribute significantly by providing policy recommendation in the development and cooperation of industry research on health and medicine, and conduct knowledge sharing and dissemination of good experience of research collaboration with industry partners in the national industrial research. Therefore, the national industrial research can be one of cooperation issues between universities and industries to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian industry.
In this event, UGM works together and is supported by Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Health and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) and industry partners of related researches.
