YOGYAKARTA - UGM Graduate School in cooperation with Ministry of Communication and Information held  a cultural event about Pancasila in form of an all-night-long leather puppet show entitled Bimo Krido, presented by puppeteer Gunawan Pujo Karsono, in the courtyard of the School, Friday evening (2/12).

Deputy Director of UGM Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Suryo Purwono, M.A.Sc., Ph.D., said the cultural event becomes one of tools for artistic expression of their culture by socializing Pancasila as the source of values in establishing the identity of the nation. "The forum and this communication stage will be an effective means to meet and greet and understand arts and culture from each other in a multicultural, practical effort," Suryo said.

He added, leather puppet show in collaboration with Ministry of Communication and Information is held regularly every year. Although it has only been done two times, this activity is aimed to socialize and enhance the role of Communication and Information more in providing cultural communication services and conveying correct information to enhance the identity of the nation based on Pancasila.

Bimo Krido play tells about the efforts of the Kaurava family to defend their kingdom of Astinapura. Failing to make peace, a war between the Kauravas against Bhima and Krishna breaks out. Finally, Batara Guru has to intervene and participate in the war.
