UGM Council of Professors officially proposed six candidates for Board of Trustees for 2011-2013 term of office. The six candidates are proposed after the Plenary Meeting to elect member candidates from Council of Professors in the Senate Hall, Tuesday (13/12). The six candidates are Prof. Dr. Ir. Susamto., M. Sc, who obtained 108 votes, Prof. Dr. Hardyanto Soebono., DSKK (92 votes), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochammad Maksum (79 votes), Prof. Dr. M. Noor Rochman Hadjam, SU (75 votes), Prof. Dr. Mochtar Mas’oed (70 votes) and Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Santoso Wignyosukarto., Dip., HE (64 votes).
Prof. Dr. Ir. Sahid Susanto, MS., Chairman of Ad Hoc Committee, said that the selection of Board of Trustees members from Council of Professors was followed by 171 members of all 300 invited, while 129 others not attending the election. "There are twenty professors who are eligible, but three people are not present, leaving only seventeen who are eligible. Of this number, six names obtained the highest votes," Sahid Susanto said, responding to the election process of Board of Trustees members from Council of Professors on UGM campus on Thursday (15/12).
In this selection process, the Council provides 171 votes according to the attendance list of professors. There were 13 disqualified votes and 158 valid. "Certainly, the six people have been nominated by the highest votes, but they still have to go through selection by the Academic Senate. After that, two names will appear as members of Board of Trustees from Council of Professors," he explained.
