In the midst of absent dissemination activities of ideology and foundation of the State, Krida Bhakti Praja Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) from Srigading Village, Sanden sub-district, Bantul regency, recently held a series of activities related to Pancasila. The activities came out in the form of coloring contest for kindergarten students in the vilage and Q and A contest on Pancasila for elementary school children in Sanden sub-district.
According to Reni Shintasari, the contest that was held by Krida Bhakti Praja Youth supported by Center for Pancasila Studies of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) aims to deliver information and values of Pancasila to the children. In addition, by knowing the Pancasila and its values, students are expected to practice it in everyday life. "The committee hopes this activity related to Pancasila is not only known in lessons at school. However, through coloring and Q and A contest, students can find out the illustration and the values of Pancasila," said Reni, one of the committee who is also a student of UGM.
The competition that was opened by the Head of Srigading village, Dwi Raharjo, took place on January 8, 2012 at the local Village Hall. A total of 200 kindergarten children follow the coloring contest and educational games. Yogi Arbiansyah from Bonggalan Srigading kindergarten came out as winner of the coloring contest while the second and third winners respectively are Agustina Tyas Saputri from Cetan Srigading kindergarten and Nabila from Pamardi Srigading Putra kindergarten. Next, consolation prize goes to Aninda Oktaviana from Ngemplak kindergarten while favorite kindergarten is Bonggalan Srigading kindergarten.
The contest for elementary schools was held on January 15, 2012, aiming that students have an understanding of Pancasila and its values, that students build the spirit of honesty in competing academically. The activity followed by elementary schools in Sanden sub-district was through two model tests, i.e., writing test and oral questions. The winners of this contest are the Wuluhadeg Elementary School (Arsita Rahma D., Melina Maharani, Isnaini Nur Wijayanti) as the first winner, entitled to receive a trophy from Center for Pancasila Studies. Meanwhile, the second is Bonggalan Elementary School (Zuhron, Mukminin A., Tri Maryani, Ahmad Malik Akbarudin) and the third is IT Sanden 3 Elementary School (Irfan Ichsanudin, Ahmad Hafizhuddin, Yusuf Atma Suryabudi). Each school is entitled to receive a trophy from the Village Head of Sanden.
Diasma Sandi Swandaru, the Centre’s researcher, saw that the spirit and initiatives of the youth in civilizing Pancasila has to be encouraged, because the younger generation is the successor of the nation, Karang Taruna youth group’s choice to hold this contest is correct. "Therefore, this activity should be appreciated as an effort made by the younger generation in disseminating and civilizing values of Pancasila early on," he said.
This contest showed that Pancasila civilization lives, grows, and is rooted in the community and the youth. Therefore, this kind of activity also requires the government’s support. "It is because disseminating Pancasila state ideology and foundation through a variety of activities actually is the responsibility of government. Such activity led by the youth seems to show that Pancasila dissemination runs independently with auto-pilot system. Community and the youth have engaged themselves in Pancasila civilization," he concluded.
