Delegation of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) Saudi Arabia visited Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Monday (23/1). The delegation is represented by Prof. Sulliman al Homidan, Dean of College Sciences, and Dr. Oki Muraza, Assistant Professor Center for Research Excellence in Nano Technology. They were received directly by the UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi M. Eng., Ph.D. Also present at the occasion were Head of International Affairs Office, Rini Rio Moehkardi, and Deputy to Senior Vice Rector for International Cooperation, Dr. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya.
The visit of KFUPM delegation aims to establish a better partnership program with partner institutions in Indonesia, one of which is UGM. This is conducted due to the increase in the number of Indonesian students studying in the Middle East.
After meeting with university leaders, the delegates presented S2 and S3 scholarship provided by KFUPM. Socialization of master and doctoral programs available at KFUPM was also conducted. Some programs offered by KFUPM are information and computer science, computer engineering, earth science, aerospace engineering, accounting, economics & finance, and city and regional planning.
In his presentation, Prof. Sulliman expects an increase in the number of students and lecturers from UGM who went on to study at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Saudi Arabia. The presentation was attended by at least 70 faculty and students at UGM.
