BANDUNG – ARDGISS Team of Faculty of Geography of Universitas Gadjah Mada consisting of Muhammad Iqnaul Haq, Rendra Ady Wijaya, and Imam Santoso, students of Cartography and Remote Sensing, Department of Geographical Information Science and Regional Development Faculty of Geography, won third place at the Geopoint Science Competition organized by the Students Association of Geodesy (IMG) ITB, 28 April.
Vice Dean for Students, Alumni and Cooperation of Faculty of Geography, Dr. Lutfi Muta’ali, M.T, said in the competition, the ARDGISS Team made the "Route Information of Public Transport in Yogyakarta City and Surrounding Areas". The application was uploaded on to the website http://www.trayekjogja.com. The ARDGISS team made it into the best three and became representative of UGM to come to the ITB in the second stage. "Before the second phase, the ARDGISS team also became one of the three best works," he said.
The result of presentation (the second stage judging) conducted in the Main Conference room of Geodetic Engineering ITB, made the ARDGISS Team the third winner. The first was Limek’s Team from ITB and the second winner was ACEES GIS Team of Computer Systems ITHB Bandung.
Geopoint Science Competition is one of a series of Geopoint 2012 activities organized by Student Association of Geodesy (IMG) Bandung Institute of Technology since February 2012 up to its closure on 28 April 2012. The competition raised the theme of GIS for Web-Based Society. The innovation is an in-house project, which means each team provides and builds their own application. The competition is divided into two stages of judging. The first stage is done to get the three best works that have been collected by all participants before the stage of presentation.
