Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc., inaugurated Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc., Ph.D., as Vice Rector of Cooperation and Alumni. The inauguration took place in UGM Senate Hall, Wednesday (25/7). While inaugurating four other Vice Rectors some time ago, the Rector said the vice rector’s inauguration is one manifestation of appreciation for the achievements that have been done. "The job as Vice Rector in the next five years is very heavy. The heavy responsibility and high expectations become challenge for us to perform tasks optimally and demonstrate achievement and makes UGM a dignified university," he said.
Praktikno further said that going forward UGM should be a reference to the nation’s progress. In addition, UGM should also participate in solving various problems of nation’s strategic issues. "Overall it cannot be done alone, we need to work together," he said.
Pratikno added, UGM is also obliged to convey knowledge and technologies that are developed to the community. The next is to strengthen service to the community through service activities, increase scientific publications, to help assist the government in making policies, and deliver knowledge through industry. "As Vice Rector of Cooperation and Alumni, the tasks are facilitating Faculties, departments, study programs, study centers and units in UGM to cooperate, assist, initiate and maintain the quality and reputation of UGM. Therefore, the task is not only to develop cooperation in the Main Office, but UGM as a whole," Rector said.
