YOGYAKARTA – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM is ready to start pioneering the establishment of political clinic institution, to help and bridge the need for alumni to resolving political problems and performance of governanve bureaucracy. “It may become a special institution but its embryo will be based on common agreement between alumni,” said Derajad Sulistyo Widhyaharto, S.Sos.,M.Si., committee chairman of the 57th anniversary of the Faculty on Monday (17/9) told reporters.
According to Derajad, the idea to form political clinic activities will start with a meeting between political figures who are alumni of UGM in December. But the establishment of the clinic institutionally will be offered to alumni, “We want to involve all related parties in this matter,” he said.
Symposium is one of a series of 14 events to be held to mark the anniversary. The Symposium raises the theme Contribution to Advanvement and Prosperity of Indonesia. The theme is expected to become an inspiration and motivation for the Faculty and its alumni to keep performing and giving the best to Indonesia.
The peak of the anniversary celebration will be done early December, among others alumni workshop, partners gathering, national meeting of Kafispolgama alumni group and art performance. It is expected that these will strengthen the bond between alumni. “Before this time we got in touch informally. We want to formalise it through a national meeting between alumni,” he said.
