After the inauguration, the Rector expressed appreciation to the old officials for their hard work and dedication. To the new officials, the Rector expected them to be able to carry out the mandate given to them properly. “Thanks should also go to those who have allowed, even supported the new officials, as I believe that the new officials are still needed in their respective faculty or unit of UGM,” he said.
The installment of the officials, according to the Rector, is a follow-up to the new organisational structure preceded by By-laws and approved by Board of Trustees recently. Not all are new posts, such as the post of Executive Secretary is retained after there were some discussion to change it into University Secretary. On the other hand, despite the fact that LPPM is an old institute, but since the leadership is an ex-officio Vice Rector, therefore, there are two deputies under him,” the Rector added.
To the new officials, the Rector asked them to work effectively and efficiently. They are also asked to try to resolving issues they deal with as until now UGM is still the best with international reputation. "As a national university with populist identity, we have the responsibility to play a bigger role for the nation and to contribute nationally. We don’t have to always do big tasks, but also technical work,” the Rector said.
