The NextIn Futura UGM team has won first place in the Imagine Cup 2013 at the national level. The competition was held on 12 April 2013 in Oval Plaza, Epicentrum Walk in Jakarta contesting three categories: Innovation, Games and World Citizenship.
The NextIn Futura team won the category of World Citizenship through Mosist (Motion Recovery Asisstant) technology with members: Kalikautsar, Robertus Sonny Prakoso, and Syukron Abu Ishaq Alfarozi (Electro and Information Technology) and Danastri Rizqi Nabilah from Communication with their mentor, M. Risqi Utama Saputra, ST.
Kalikautsar, Project Manager, said Mosist is Kinect-based software to help patients with stroke to undergo post-stroke treatment to optimise their motoric ability. There are four therapy groups: balancing, walking, standing up & sitting down, and reaching & manipulation.
“With Mosist, users will have post-stroke therapy different from before,” he said on Monday (22/4).
Different from conventional therapy, Mosist can give users experience through natural user-interface based on Kinect technology and audiovisual interaction through games. Mosist can increase user’s motivation for therapy.
“Mosist can also be used as Range-of-Motion (ROM) calculator and speed that will measure user’s performand quantitatively and in real-time,” he added.
The NextIn Futura team was entitled for cash worth IDR25 million from Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry.
UGM’s other team, Bingawa, went to the final round with their Greenaid innovation category, but unable to win.
