YOGYAKARTA – Universitas Gadjah Mada hosts the 7th Information Technology and Communication Student Event (Gemastik) in Grha Sabha Pramana UGM from 25-27 November with the theme Culture and Creativity of Indonesia for State Sovereignty. Contestants will compete in nine categories: programming, game development, softwares, data maintaning, network security, local culture animation, smart gadget, business game, and user experience design.
“The Gemastik event aims at encouraging the students to survive in ICT in the future,” said Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. dr. Iwan Dwiprahasto, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D, on Friday (23/5).
Event coordinator, Mardani Riasetiawan, S.E., M.Sc., said registrations for Information Technology and Communication students is opened online where students need to send a softcopy of their proposal through the website www.gemastik.ugm.ac.id, opened until 22 August. Those that pass selection will be invited to join the final round.
Ahmad Agus Setiawan, P.hD., committee secretary, said the Gemastik event is a forum for students that have interest in the development of own innovative products. He hopes this will bring out more innovative products from students.
