JAKARTA – Universitas Gadjah Mada alumni association of Jakarta branch submit 20 points of recommendation on economy, law, education and culture on Friday (12/9) to the elected government.

One key point to be submitted to president-elect Joko Widodo is acceleration of development for regions at the outermost, underdeveloped, and outlying areas.

The Jakarta branch of the alumni association also supports the construction plan of sea tolls and government’s attention to border areas in terms of defence issues.

The recommendation was delivered during an alumni gathering by association advisor, Bambang Kesowo, to Anies Baswedan, Mr. Widodo’s deputy head of the government transition team, who are both UGM alumni. Baswedan said the recommendation would help the new president administer governmental affairs.

The gathering was attended by Rector of UGM, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc., Sc, and Chairman of Jakarta association, Budi Karya Sumadi. Thousands of alumni also joined the event, including Deputy Health Minister, Ali Ghufron Mukti, Sports Minister, Roy Suryo, and Head of Logistics Agency, Sutarto Alimoeso.
